Schlage Privacy Emergency Key
The Schlage Privacy Emergency Key is designed to be used with all Privacy (Bed/Bath) functions. This key is designed to open a privacy function from the exterior side of the door. All Schlage Privacys have a hole on the exterior side of the knob or lever to allow this tool to unlock the lock in the case of an emergency. These are factory original emergency keys.
This tool is also used in Schlage Lever Installations to remove the lever from the chasis. Instructions for this use are not included. Refer to a Schlage Lever Installation Sheet for this use.

- If the privacy (bed/bath) door is open you can turn the turnpiece and lock the knob or lever. If this door is then closed, you are locked out. Sometimes, children will close the door and lock the lock and then can't figure out how to unlock from the inside. This emergency key will allow you to unlock the door from the exterior. This emergency key is usually kept above the door trim, on the exterior side of the door, for quick access in case of an emergency.
