The Kwikset Deadbolt Reinforcing Plate is designed to be used with the following Deadbolts: 980 Series Pin and Tumbler & Smart Key Cylinders, 785 Series Pin and Tumbler Cylinders. It is also designed to be used with the following Handlesets: 800 Series Single Cylinder Pin and Tumbler & Smart Key, 802 Series Dummy Cylinder Handlesets. This reinforcing plate provides additional strength to the deadbolt against forced entry.

- On the 980 Series Deadbolts, this plate goes on the inside of the door before installing the interior thumbturn. On the 785 Series Deadbolt, this plate goes on the inside of the door prior to installing the inside cylinder assembly.
