Handleset Thick Door Spindle Mechanism
The Kwikset Thick Door Spindle Mechanism is designed to be used on all Kwikset Single and Double Cylinder Handlesets that are going to be installed on a door thickness of 1-3/4" to 2-1/4". This spindle mechanism is a direct replacement for the standard spindle mechanism that comes assembled with all Kwikset active handlesets. You will need additional parts to complete the handleset extension from 1-3/4" to 2-1/4" thick doors - see below.

Thick door kwikset extension part
We replaced a newly purchased door handle for a front door but the handle on the inside didn’t reach through the door and attach properly. This part solved the issue and now works perfectly.
