Helpful Hint: This is one single lever that screws to the face of the door with two wood screws included for installation.
- If you want a dummy lever on both sides of the door, you will need to order two of this item. For handed dummy levers order 1 Right Hand and 1 Left Hand.
- If your door has been pre-drilled with an 1-5/8" or 2-1/8" crossbore hole (standard hole size for functioning door hardware), a dummy function will not work. You can use a passage function without the latch. If you use a passage function, the hardware will not be rigid; it will rotate like a normal passage function.

Mechanical & Finish Coverage: Both are covered for as long as the original purchaser occupies the home where the product was installed.
Electronics Coverage: Electronic components are covered for 1 year from purchase.
Authorized Seller Requirement: Warranty applies only to products purchased from Kwikset-authorized sellers (like Door Locks Direct); unauthorized purchases are not eligible.
Exclusions: No coverage for misuse, improper installation, chemical damage, commercial use, modifications, or mixing Kwikset with non-Kwikset trim; warranty is non-transferable.
Claims Process: Proof of purchase and defect description required; Kwikset may provide troubleshooting or replace the product and supplies a prepaid return label if a return is authorized.

Mechanical & Finish Coverage: Most Schlage residential products include a Limited Lifetime Mechanical and Finish Warranty.
Electronics Coverage: Smart and electronic products carry a 3-year electronics warranty.
Original User & Authorized Seller Requirement: Warranty applies only to the original residential user, is non-transferable, and requires purchase from a Schlage-authorized seller (like Door Locks Direct).
Exclusions: No coverage for labor, normal wear, improper installation, misuse, environmental damage, commercial/common-area use, or Oil-Rubbed Bronze finish changes.
Schlage Remedy: Upon inspection, Schlage may replace with new/remanufactured product or refund the purchase price; customer must return the product with proof of purchase.

The sentry of entry levers
It's a great lock by Kwikset and does just what I needed. I've been getting this 740 model for the past three houses and like them so as a repeat Kwikset customer I definitely recommend them. I bought two past orders at another place and this third one here at doorlocksdirect. The reason I chose doorlocksdirect is because they offered more for each lock so I could get the 6-way latch and be certain each lock would fit depending on the door encountered, which was very nice. The only thing I don't like is that they levers get loose over time so you have to tighten them back up, but it's a minor annoyance on my end - kind of like having to oil a lock over time - be great if you did not have to but just a part of overall maintenance.
