816 Key Control Deadbolt

The Kwikset 816 Deadbolt is perfect for multi-family dwellings (apartments), student housing, assisted living, and rental properties where master keying is desired.  This deadbolt is the smart alternative to traditional master keying.

BOTH CYLINDERS FEATURE SMARTKEY RE-KEY TECHNOLOGY:

• Concealed key control cylinder has a unique patented keyway to provide increased security.  Simply rotate the cylinder cap to expose the cylinder for use.
• User cylinder (tenant) utilizes the traditional Kwikset keyway and keys.
• Gear assembly enables both cylinders to lock or retract the deadbolt latch.

CERTIFIED GRADE 2 ANSI / BHMA SECURITY:

• BUMPGUARD - Patented side locking bar technology offers improved security by protecting against lock bumping, an attack on conventional pin & tumbler cylinders.
• DRILL RESISTANCE - Cylinder uses two steel balls inserted into the front of the key face to resist attacks from drilling.
• PICK RESISTANCE - Superior SmartKey withstands the highest level of UL pick testing, the UL 437,Par.11.6.

Helpful Hint:

• The top cylinder (concealed key control cylinder) has a unique patented keyway to provide increased security.  The traditional KW-1 Kwikset keys will not work in this cylinder.  You must use the new part # 83382 for additional Master key blanks.
• The bottom cylinder (tenant cylinder) uses the traditional Kwikset keyway and keys; part # 81063 key blank.
